FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties
At any given moment, the FoodBank warehouses just over 1 million pounds of food. This food provides support to over 127,000 individuals through approximately 260 pantries, soup kitchens, and other programs across its community—a tremendous undertaking. Because of the diffuse nature of these services, many in the community remained unaware of the role and growing scale of the FoodBank’s operations.
A 5-minute video, “Help Stop Hunger,” was produced, combining documentary storytelling from one day of shooting with motion graphics, narration, and music, to bring operations of the FoodBank to life on screen. Relying heavily on interviews from those who use and provide services, the video put a human face on the very real and changing nature of hunger in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Help Stop Hunger was initially used as a cornerstone of an appeal event, and pledges tripled the previous year’s efforts. The reach and value of the video have extended well beyond this initial event, to serve as an “incredible tool” for introducing the FoodBank and telling their story. In the client's words, “I don’t know what we’d do without it!”
