Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Lansing JazzFest

Lansing JazzFest celebrated its 20th anniversary on August 4th in Old Town Lansing. After a crazy hailstorm in the late afternoon, JazzFest welcomed the sunset and an audience of over 10,000 people with live music, local food, and delicious beverages.

Welcoming a New Eye for Graphic Design

Four years ago, Lisa Twenter worked as a Graphic Design intern with MessageMakers. Once her internship ended, she continued to explore other opportunities and fine-tune her skills. Fortunately for MessageMakers, she kept in contact and returned this past May to take on a full-time role as graphic designer.

Terry Terry Appointed to Film Office Advisory Council

President Terry Terry was appointed to the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council (MFOAC). The three-year appointment by Governor Rick Snyder represents a significant responsibility for shaping the direction of Michigan’s film industry. The Council has an advisory role for the Film Office’s $50 million annual incentive fund for qualified Michigan film and digital media productions.

Exploring China

China Trade Mission

Our President Terry Terry and Controller Sophia Cheng joined Governor Snyder’s China Trade Mission to gain a better understanding of the opportunity and diversity within the Chinese market.

We had a fulfilling trip, arranging 15 meetings in Shanghai, Beijing, and Chongqing with top officials from growing Chinese companies in the fields of public relations, marketing, event production, video and television production, and export related services.

Pat McNerney Earns Certified Meeting Professional Certification

Project Manager Pat McNerney earned his Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification. The CMP certification recognizes leading professionals in the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry.

“This certificate means a lot to me. I have achieved the industry's highest standard of professionalism,” Pat said after he received the CMP certification.

Promoting Michigan’s Global Initiatives

MessageMakers was doing global work long before globalization was a hot topic. Since our beginning, we have served educational institutions worldwide. This year, MessageMakers was very pleased to help promote several global initiatives for Michigan, aiming to strengthen our state's economy by promoting exports and retaining top global talent.

Our event team recently worked with the Harley Owners Group® to produce an interactive training for motorcycle rally planners from around the world, focusing most heavily on honing practical skills in creating unique experiences, negotiating with potential partners, and connecting with their audiences via social media.
