MessageMakers congratulates Jacob Mendel on his win of the Most Promising Student Filmmaker Award at the 13th annual East Lansing Film Festival (ELFF) Lake Michigan Film Competition. This very popular award was created to encourage, foster and help promote filmmaking in Michigan and its neighboring states.
Mendel is a student director, cinematographer and photographer with talent. His short film, Zlatá Rybka, tells the story of a cat, a fish and a man whose lives intersect in mysterious ways during an unknowable time in Prague.
The award includes access to film production support services (including cameras, studios and editing space) at the MessageMakers studio/office in Old Town Lansing, worth an estimated $10,000.
The East Lansing Film Festival provides an opportunity for independent filmmakers to showcase their work and talent among larger audiences every year. If you are interested in submitting a piece next year, visit www.elff.com for more information.
