I've been discussing social media tools to make keeping up easy. My RSS reader works hand in hand with Hootsuite, my favorite multi-posting tool.

First stop: setting up your account with access to your choice of Twitter, Facebook (and Facebook Pages), LinkedIn, Ping.fm, Wordpress, MySpace, and Foursquare accounts. You'll need to log into your accounts on the other end and grant Hootsuite permission to update them.

Then, you can update whichever you like with a single message at any time. If you like to batch your online tasks, you can schedule messages for later when you're not around to engage. This won't help you engage with people in the moment, but helps you keep your account current. I use my RSS reader to help me batch personal responses—you can also scroll down the feeds on the Hootsuite tabs if you like.
