The East Lansing Film Festival's Winter 2012 48/5 Competition recently took place, and some of our staffers competed as Team Tell Stories.
As a refresher, here's how the ELFF explains the 48/5:
Filmmakers come together to write, shoot, edit, and premiere an original five-minute film in a mere 48 hours. At the start of the contest, teams are given the same three elements (a prop, a CHARACTER and a line of dialogue) that they must incorporate into their finished film. To add to the challenge, each team draws a genre from a hat.
Their required elements were a stuffed animal, an athlete named "Quinn Cooper," the line of dialogue "You get what you pay for," and the genre of romance.
Their short film didn't win award recognition, but it serves as a motivational reminder that there are worse things than being single on Valentine's Day. Enjoy Running from Romance:
